State Police Release Identity of Body Found in East Norwegian Township

The Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven have identified the body found in East Norwegian Township near St. Clair in January.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven Crime Unit, around 10:45am, Thursday, January 11th, 2024, Troopers were contacted by the St. Clair Police Department for a deceased person found in the area of Tunnel Road in East Norwegian Township behind the Empire Beauty School.

Following the finding of the body, State Police had asked for the public's help in identifying the victim by releasing that he was described as wearing a light gray sweatshirt, white t-shirt, dark gray jogging pants, tan and gray size 11 men's shoes with white soles and gray socks.  He was described as being 5'10" to 6'02" tall and weighing approximately 175-225 pounds.

Late Tuesday, March 26th, 2024, the Schuylkill Haven Barracks released that they have identified the victim as 51-year-old Walter Gera.

They reported that they were able to identify Gera through dental and medical records.  State Police report that no foul play was suspected in the investigation.
