Kenneth "Butch" Gilbert, Jr.
, 77, of Cressona, passed away Friday, May 3rd, at home.

Born in Pottsville on May 4, 1946, he was the son of the late Claire (Strouphauer) and Kenneth A. Gilbert, Sr.

Butch was the husband of Mary Ellen (Waltz) Gilbert to whom he married in December of 1969.

He was a member of St. Mark's United Church of Christ, Cressona, Beckville Gun Club, and a life member of the Goodwill Hose Company, Cressona.

Butch was a 1965 graduate of Blue Mountain High School.

He was employed at Pottsville Bleach & Dye and was a mill hand for Newport Mobile Home Construction.

In addition to his wife, Butch is survived by a son, Michael D. Gilbert, of Cressona; a daughter, Lisa Marie Gilbert, of Schuylkill Haven; and grandchildren, Zachary, Sieara, and Kayla.

In addition to his parents, Kenneth is preceded in death by a brother, James Gilbert.

A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, May 10th at Ebling Stabingas Funeral Home in Cressona with Rev. Kevin Fruchtl officiating. A visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the time of services.

Interment will follow at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.

Paul E. Gardinsky (“Peckles” or “Pickles”)
in his words…on this day, April 14th, 2024 kicked the bucket for the final time, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on March 14th, 1951 in Locust Mountain Hospital “Lokie” of Shenandoah, PA, he was the son and brother of the late Florence Kulesza Gardinsky, Alexander Gardinsky and brother Bobby Gardinsky.

He is survived by his friend and ex-wife Susan J. Gardinsky; son, Alex Gardinsky and wife Pamela Gardinsky; daughter, Lauren Gardinsky and partner Ralph T. Burgos; his loving sister, Sandy Schillo and daughter Suzanne Schillo. He is also survived by his joys of life grandchildren, his buddies, Max Dillion, Levi Vincent and Ryley Thomas and his nieces, Jacie and Alexis and many treasured friends who he celebrated and enjoyed life with.

He enjoyed life to the fullest. He was a member of the Divine Mercy Church of Shenandoah formerly Saint Stanislaus where he was an active volunteer for the annual block parties; Ancient and Honorable Society of the Rum Dums where he was the 71st “GG”, the Grand Guzzler. Peckles was a former member of the Knights of Columbus Council 618, Shenandoah. He was a member of the last graduating class of the former Shenandoah Catholic High School in 1968 and was also a graduate of Stevens Trade School with a degree in carpentry and was a Master Carpenter.

Religious services will be held on Wednesday evening, May 8, 2024 at 6:45 pm at Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 South Jardin Street, Shenandoah with Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian, Pastor officiating. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 pm until 6:45 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at 10:00 am in Saint Stanislaus Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.

Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, Shenandoah is in care of the arrangements.

Geraldine Viola, 89, of Pottsville passed away peacefully at her home on Friday.

Services are private at the convenience of the family. Grabowski Funeral Home, Schuylkill Haven is entrusted with the services.

Barbara J. Walters
, 72, of Forestville, died Thursday at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg, Bethlehem.

She was born on June 3, 1951, in Pottsville, a daughter of the late Ronald and Marian Myers Bierman

She was a graduate of Pottsville Area High School

Prior to retiring she was employed by Avenues, Pottsville

Barbara was a member of 1st United Methodist Church, Pottsville.

Barbara was predeceased by her husband Joseph Walters; a son, Robby Rauch; siblings Ronald Bierman, Carol Merkey, Debbie Karlavage, Jackie Helterbran, Gary Bierman.

She is survived by her children Melissa Urban and her companion Frank Seiders of Forestville, Kimberly Rauch and her fiancé Robert Spirko of Minersville, Ronald Rauch and his wife Tammy of Pottsville; as well as nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Additionally, she is survived by siblings Richard Myers of Schuylkill Haven; Mark Bierman of Primrose; Janie Kovach of Frackville; Sandy Wilner of Mahanoy City; Dennis Bierman of Pine Grove; Gene Ann Smitrovich of NC; Jeff Bierman of Phoenix Park; along with nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held 11AM Thursday at the James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville. A viewing will take place from 9:00 AM until the time of services. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions in memory of Barb be made to Avenues 2 Park St., Pottsville, PA 17901 or Salvation Army 400 Sanderson St. Pottsville, PA 17901.
