According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, the crash occurred around 8:00 p.m. on Skyline Drive (Route 61 south), just north of the intersection with Darkwater Road.
Troopers say a 2005 Yamaha Midnight Venture, operated by Russell Wilson of Lancaster, was traveling south when he failed to negotiate a left curve in the roadway. The motorcycle went off the right shoulder, overturned, and slid roughly 50 feet before coming to rest against a construction sign.
Wilson suffered suspected serious injuries and was flown to Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest in Allentown. His passenger, identified as Sara LaBelle, also of Lancaster, sustained suspected minor injuries and was transported by Frackville Community Ambulance to Lehigh Valley Hospital–East.
The motorcycle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene by Northern Keystone Towing.
Assisting at the crash were members of the Frackville Fire Department, Frackville EMS, and Shenandoah EMS.
Police say Wilson has been cited for the crash.
The roadway remained passable while emergency crews operated at the scene.
