Frances T. Rennick
, 88, formerly of St. Clair, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 16, 2025 at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.

Born in St. Clair, September 15, 1936 she was a daughter of the late Francis and Mary (Ditcavage) Flanagan.

She was a graduate of St. Clair High School. She worked as a seamstress at the St. Clair Garment Factory and was a member of the ILGWU. She retired from Jetson Mail Services in Hamburg, PA.

Frances was a member of St. Clare off Assisi Roman Catholic Church, St Clair.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert “Teno” Rennick in 2020; 2 Sisters, Margaret Gregory and Maryann Hosler.

She is survived by her children, Linda Breisch and her husband Nelson of Hershey; Michael Rennick and his wife, Susan of St Clair; Lisa Kurilla and her husband James of Port Carbon; 4 grandchildren, Jimmy Kurilla and his wife Kaitlyn; Brittany and her husband Jordan Schenck; Matthew Breisch; Kevin Breisch; 2 great grandchildren Kamryn Schenck and Oliver Kurilla; Brother John Flanagan of Port Carbon; Nieces and Nephews.

Memorial mass will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, August 29, 2025 from St Clare Of Assisi Roman Catholic Church 250 E. Hancock St., St Clair, PA 17970 with Msgr. William Glosser officiating. Friends may call from 10 AM to 11 AM Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Compassus Hospice 500Hawk Ridge Dr. Suite 4 Hamburg, PA 19526. Burial will be private at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Bruce T. Hart Funeral Home, St. Clair is in charge of arrangements.

William V. Gouldner
, 81, of Lock Haven, formerly of Frackville died Thursday August 7, 2025 at Rose View Center, Williamsport.

Born in Frackville, September 21, 1943, He was a son of Edna Gouldner.

He was a Bachelor's Degree from Wayland Baptist University.

William V. Gouldner served in the US Air Force for over 26 years, including in Vietnam. He was stationed at Ellword AFB South Dakota; Offit AFB Omaha NE; Shepard AFB Wichita Falls TX. After his retirement he worked as a civil servant for 10 years, continuing to teach.

While in Texas he became an avid horseman and was a member of the Wrangler Riding Club.

In addition to his mother was preceded in death by his wifes Cora (Mote) Gouldner and wife Patsy (Shilling) Gouldner.

Surviving are daughter Sara L. Masoner of Fresno, CA; son Mark Gouldner of South Dakota; son William Gouldner of Grandchildren Ian and Ivy Masoner.

Fiuneral Services will be held at 10:30 AM from Nice Hart Funeral Home Inc. 9 N. Lehigh Ave. Frackville, PA 17931. Friends may call from 10:00-10:30 at the funeral home. In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Burial with military honors will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery , Annville.

Sallie I Dinger
, 84, of Harrisburg, formerly of Pine Grove, passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at home.

Born on August 9, 1941 in Pottsville, she was a daughter of the late Willard and Mardelle Lehman Knapp.

Sallie was a Beautician and had her own Beauty Shop.

She had been a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Pine Grove.

Sallie loved gardening, shopping, sewing, cross stitching and was an avid reader.

Preceding her in death were her husband, LeRoy L Dinger; a grandson, Anthony Pena; and a great grandson, Caleb Blouch.

Surviving are two daughters, Lisa and husband Richard Finneran, Tammy and husband Samuel Bartorillo, both of Harrisburg; three grandchildren, Zachary and wife Kimberly Melhorn, Alexis and husband Zachary Baird, Marissa and husband Logan Blouch; three great grandchildren, Therron Melhorn, Joseph Baird and Anastasia Baird; and a brother William Edward and wife Janet Knapp of Pine Grove. She also had a close relationship with Shannon McHenry, Clarissa Noll and Barbara Rehrer.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Grove with Pastor Barry Spatz officiating. There will be a viewing on Friday, August 22, 2025 from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Jacob's Lutheran Cemetery, Pine Grove.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions be made to the Ruth Steinert Memorial SPCA, 18 Wertz Dr. Pine Grove, PA 17963 in her memory.

Donald Williams, 93, a resident of Ringtown, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 18th, 2025.

Don was born in Ashland on October 28, 1931, a son of the late Walter and Marion (Zimmerman) Williams. After graduating from West Mahanoy Township High School, he embarked on a long time career of working in the mining industry, retiring after 47 years for Pagnotti Enterprises as a loader operator in 1995.

Don was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Ringtown, where he was the former custodian and also at the Old White Church in Ringtown. A member of the Shenandoah Fish and Game Club, he was an avid hunter who also enjoyed reading books.

In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his wife Larue (Hinderliter) Williams; two sons, Glenn and Robert Williams, a sister, Betty Moll and a brother William O. Williams.

He is survived by his children, Debra Werner; Nancy Stauffer; Lori Bradley; Gary Williams; Daniel Williams and Wesley Williams, along with grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. A brother, Larry Williams also survives, along with nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at St. John's Lutheran Church, West Main Street, Ringtown on Tuesday, August 26th at 6 PM. Don will be laid to rest at St. John's Cemetery after the service.

Don's family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to St. John's Building Fund, St. John's Cemetery Fund or the Old White Church Preservation Fund.

The Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, RIngtown, is assisting Don's family during their time of need.

Frederick L. "Fred" Powers, Jr.
, 74 Pottsville died Saturday home.

He was born on April 27, 1951, in Pottsville a son of the late Frederick L. Sr. and Dorothy V. Boyer.

He was a 1969 graduate of Pottsville Area High School.

He worked for the former Pottsville Bleach and Dye Co. in Port Carbon, immediately after graduating high school and until he retired.

Fred attended St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville. He was part of the Schuylkill Valley Teener League Champion team of 1967, 1968 and 1969 during his youth. He also played several years of semi pro baseball in Bloomsburg and was a member of the Club 18 Pool League.

An avid golfer, Fred participated in numerous local tournaments, including those organized by St. Patrick Church, the Nativity Green Wave Association, and Club 18 where he was a 2-time defending B-Flight champion. His love of the game brought him joy and served as a testament to his competitive spirit and camaraderie with fellow golfers.

Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Karen Larkin Powers; 4 sons: Benjamin and Matthews Powers, St. Louis, MO; Ian Burgess, Tucson, AZ; and Conor Burgess, Brooklyn, NY. a 5 grandfather to Aiden, Vincent, Patrick, Olivia, and Nora Burgess; 3 brothers: Glenn Powers, Orwigsburg; Bruce Powers, Bath; and Gary Powers, Palm Springs, CA; and 2 sisters, Rosemary Gappa, Eugene, OR, and Bonnie Powers, St. Clair; several nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11AM from St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 9-10:45AM at the church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Pottsville. The family would prefer remembrance in the form of contributions in memory of Fred be made to St. Patrick Memorial Fund, 319 Mahantongo St. Pottsville, PA 17901.

Arrangements are under the care of James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville.

Joan M. Botek, 89, formerly of MarLin, passed away Saturday, August 16th, at Seton Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Joan was born in Pottsville, Pa. on February 11, 1936, a daughter of the late Mary (Brilla) and Ignatius Linder. She was the widow of Paul M Botek.

Joan was a member of the former St. Stanislaus Kostka Church and St. Matthew the Evangelist of the Holy Family Parish.

She had worked as a Seamstress in the local garment industry.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sons, Paul Jr. and Joseph..

Joan is survived by three daughters, Colleen, wife of Mark Curran, Joanne, wife of Andrew Harvilicz, and Theresa, wife of George Brilla. Joan is also survived by her grandchildren, Brooke, Sherri, Taryn, Logan and Joseph Jr..

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 22nd at Saint Matthew the Evangelist in Minersville, with Fr. Jojappa Adagatla, MSC officiating.

Interment St. Stanislaus Kostka #2 Cemetery.

Mary J. Chevinski
, 94, of Drifton, passed away Saturday evening, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Drifton, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Salitza) Segon.

Mary was a devoted member of St. Mary’s Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, McAdoo. Her Ukrainian heritage along with her deep faith and love for the Blessed Mother guided her daily life.

Mary was a loving homemaker for her family and enjoyed tending to her beautiful garden.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Joseph Chevinski; sisters, Irene Leonard and Betty Lutzick; and brother, George Segon Sr.

Surviving are her daughter, Karen Mazaika and husband David Sr., of McAdoo; grandchildren, David Mazaika Jr. and wife Beth, Jennifer Tanner and husband Zachary, and Jessica Paisley and husband Thomas; great-grandchildren, David III and Matthew Mazaika, Leah, Rebecca and Emily Tanner, and Trevor and Macie Jo Paisley; and nieces and nephews.

Rev. Paul Spotts will celebrate the Divine Liturgy with Office of Christian Burial on Saturday, August 23, at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, McAdoo. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.

A calling hour will be held Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. in the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Mary’s Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, 210 W. Blaine St., McAdoo, PA 18237.
