Schuylkill County Residents Among Those Charged in Carbon County Drug Ring Bust

Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday, joined by Carbon County District Attorney Michael Greek and local law enforcement leaders, announced the arrest of seven individuals linked to a large-scale drug trafficking organization operating in Carbon County and surrounding communities, including Schuylkill County.

Among those arrested is Cruz Rodriguez, of New Philadelphia, Elijah Camacho, of Tamaqua, Jose Nieves-Feliciano, and Justin Paul Heacock, both of Coaldale, Schuylkill County, who faces charges in connection with the ring. Investigators say the organization, led by Cruz “June” Rodriguez, trafficked methamphetamine, fentanyl/heroin, and marijuana across the region.

Authorities reported seizing several pounds of illegal drugs during the operation. They also described Rodriguez as a “ruthless leader,” who allegedly controlled co-conspirators through intimidation, threats, and the display of firearms.

“This operation takes a dangerous mix of firearms and drug trafficking off our streets,” Attorney General Sunday said. “I am grateful to our law enforcement partners for their teamwork and commitment. These arrests and seizures will have a lasting impact on the safety of our communities.”

District Attorney Greek praised the collaborative effort, highlighting the cooperation between Carbon and Schuylkill County law enforcement. “These drug arrests showcase the dedication of our officers and their commitment to keeping Carbon County safe,” Greek said.
