According to the National Weather Service, dry conditions will hold for much of Wednesday, but rain will begin to move into the region from south to north by late afternoon and evening. The precipitation will start as scattered showers before becoming a steady, widespread rain overnight.
Forecasters say the rain will persist through Thursday, with the heaviest amounts likely during the morning and afternoon hours. By late Thursday afternoon into the early evening, the steady rain is expected to taper off into showers and possible thunderstorms.
In total, the county could see as much as 1.50 inches of rain.
In light of the anticipated wet conditions, several local municipalities have moved their trick-or-treat nights to avoid the peak rainfall period and promote safer, drier conditions for children and families.
Skook News will have an update on the Halloween event schedule changes later on Wednesday.
