GIRLS BASKETBALL: Blue Mountain Pulls Away After Halftime to Defeat Northampton



A strong second-half performance lifted Blue Mountain to a 46–27 victory over Northampton in girls high school basketball action on Saturday.
The contest was tightly contested early, with Northampton holding a slim 11–9 edge after the first quarter. Blue Mountain answered in the second, and the teams went into halftime locked in a 16–16 tie.

Coming out of the break, the Eagles took control. Blue Mountain outscored Northampton 19–7 in the third quarter to build a 35–23 advantage and continued to extend the lead in the final frame to secure the win.

Mila Fleagle led all scorers with 20 points for Blue Mountain Eagles, while Hailey Place added 9 and Callie Peel chipped in 8. Karley Koch finished with 6 points and Delaney Walborn rounded out the scoring with 3.

Northampton was paced by Isabelle Pecuch with 12 points. Laila Reichl scored 5, while Evangelina Gougoustamos and Rosalie Echevarria each added 4. Abbie Luipersbeck contributed 2 points for the visitors.

With the win, Blue Mountain improves to 4–7 on the season. The Eagles will look to keep the momentum going on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, when they travel to Pine Grove for a Schuylkill League matchup against Pine Grove Cardinals.
