Minersville Man Wanted on Assault and Harassment Charges Following New Year’s Eve Incident



Minersville Borough Police are searching for Juan James Perez, 19, of Minersville, in connection with an alleged assault and harassment incident reported following New Year’s Eve.
According to a criminal complaint filed by the Minersville Borough Police Department, officers were notified on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026, at approximately 4:54 p.m., when a victim arrived at the police station to report an assault that allegedly occurred the previous day.

The complaint states the incident took place on Dec. 31, 2025, near the area of North Street and North Second Street in Minersville. The victim reported that Perez allegedly grabbed her right arm with enough force to cause bruising on her inner bicep, which the officer observed. She further stated that Perez then allegedly grabbed her hair for an estimated 45 seconds before releasing her.

The victim also reported that upon arriving at a residence for a New Year’s Eve party, Perez allegedly threatened her, stating, “If you don’t come inside, I’m going to f** you up,”* causing her to fear for her safety and well-being.

Police say that since the reported assault, both officers and the victim have been unable to locate Perez.

As a result of the investigation, Perez is wanted on the following charges:
  • Simple Assault (M2)
  • Harassment – Communicates Lewd, Threatening, or Obscene Language (M3)
  • Harassment – Subject Other to Physical Contact (Summary)
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Juan James Perez is urged to contact the Minersville Borough Police Department. Police caution the public not to approach Perez and to report any sightings to authorities immediately.
