Shenandoah Police Seeking Man Wanted for Alleged Handgun Assault


The Shenandoah Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a man wanted in connection with a reported aggravated assault on Thursday.

Police are searching for 22-year-old Rodelfy Liriano Corniel, of Shenandoah, who is wanted on Felony Aggravated Assault charges following an incident that occurred Thursday afternoon in the borough.

According to an affidavit of probable cause, officers were dispatched around 3:20 p.m. on February 19, 2026, to a residence in the 100 block of South Bower Street after a complaint was made by a 19-year-old woman. The victim reported that Liriano Corniel allegedly struck her in the head with a handgun during an altercation.

Police said the victim sustained visible lacerations and swelling as a result of the assault. She was transported by Shenandoah Community Ambulance to the hospital for treatment.

Court documents state that Corniel fled the scene prior to police arrival. Authorities also indicated he is wanted in Luzerne County before the Court of Common Pleas.
