The first-ever Skookstock will take place Saturday, May 9, at the Frackville Elks, bringing together local music and community support to benefit the American Cancer Society.
The event will begin at 4 p.m. at the Frackville Elks, located at 307 S. 3rd Street in Frackville, and will feature a full evening lineup of local and regional bands performing throughout the night.
Organizers say the inaugural event is designed to combine live entertainment, food, and fundraising efforts in support of the fight against cancer.
The musical lineup includes:
- 4 p.m. – Sakes Alive, a classic rock and variety band performing hits from the 1950s through today
- 5 p.m. – JFK, an acoustic classic rock band
- 6 p.m. – Another Side, a vocal-oriented classic rock band
- 7 p.m. – Waiting for Eyes, an acoustic rock and roll duo
- 8 p.m. – Ricky and the Ricardos, a high-energy rock and roll band
Admission to the event is $10. Food and beverages will be available for purchase throughout the evening, and raffles will also be held as part of the fundraiser.
Organizers hope Skookstock becomes an annual tradition supporting cancer-related causes while showcasing local musical talent and bringing the community together for a night of entertainment and giving back.
