Mahanoy Township Police Respond to Shots Fired at Water Treatment Plant, Arrest Two for Trespassing


Mahanoy Township Police Department officers quickly responded to a report of shots fired at the local water treatment plant on Brandonville Road on Friday evening, May 1, 2026, leading to the arrest of two adult males.
According to police, officers were dispatched to the scene at approximately 5:20 PM following the report of gunfire. Through a swift response and investigation, authorities located and took two adult males into custody on trespassing charges.

A Glock 19 handgun was recovered at the scene and secured as evidence for further investigation.

The investigation remains active and ongoing, police said.

In a statement, the Mahanoy Township Police Department emphasized its commitment to public safety: “Criminal activity and reckless behavior within Mahanoy Township will be addressed proactively and without hesitation.”

Department officials also extended thanks to the Mahanoy City Police Department for their assistance during the incident.
