City of Pottsville Seeks Applicants for New Assistant City Administrator/Authority & Grants Manager Position


The City of Pottsville is accepting applications for a newly created leadership position that combines municipal administration, authority management, economic development coordination, and grant administration into a single role.
The new Assistant City Administrator/Authority & Grants Manager position was established to improve operational efficiency and strengthen regional collaboration by centralizing several professional responsibilities. According to the job posting, the position's cost may be shared among multiple entities, including the City of Pottsville, the Pottsville Parking Authority, and the Pottsville Redevelopment Authority.

City officials are seeking a highly organized, entrepreneurial professional with experience in municipal government, redevelopment, economic development, or grant administration.

Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree in public administration, planning, business administration, political science, economic development, or a related field, along with three to five years of experience in municipal government, authority management, redevelopment, economic development, or grant administration.

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of municipal finance, redevelopment initiatives, and public administration. Experience managing federal or state grants is preferred, while knowledge of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) compliance is strongly preferred. The city is also looking for someone with excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills who can manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
