The Greater Shenandoah Area Historical Society is inviting the public to take a trip back in time during its upcoming monthly presentation on Tuesday, August 4, 2026.
The program, "Celebrating the Shenandoah Centennial of 1966," will look back at the borough's memorable weeklong celebration marking the 100th anniversary of Shenandoah's incorporation. This August marks 60 years since the historic centennial festivities, which featured daily parades and numerous community events that brought residents together in celebration.
The presentation will revive the memories of that milestone celebration while exploring its significance in the borough's history.
The program begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Greater Shenandoah Area Historical Society Museum, located at 201 S. Main Street, Shenandoah. Visitors are asked to use the Cherry Street entrance, where ample parking is available.
Admission is free, and refreshments and a social gathering will follow the presentation. The event is open to the public, and everyone is welcome to attend.
