A Schuylkill County Coroner has been called to the scene of a crash on Burma Road in Ryan Township.
Emergency personnel were dispatched to a reported head-on collision involving a passenger vehicle and a tractor-trailer near 1664 Burma Road. First responders arrived and confirmed the crash, prompting the closure of Burma Road in both directions as crews worked at the scene.
Shortly after emergency crews arrived, the Schuylkill County Coroner's Office was requested to respond.
According to emergency dispatch radio traffic, four other people were injured in the crash. One medical helicopter was dispatched to transport one of the injured victims to a trauma center.
As of 8:45pm, the entire Burma Road from Mahanoy City to St. Clair is closed.
