Bobby Moucheron
, 65, of Mahanoy City, PA, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 19th, at St. Luke's Hospital – Bethlehem with his wife holding his hand surrounded by intense love from family and friends.

Born on September 22, 1960, he was a son of the late Al and Joan (Rajkowski) Moucheron.

Bobby was a 1978 graduate of Mahanoy Area High School. He worked for 37 years at Bell Telephone/Verizon as a telephone program engineer. Bobby was a coach for the girls’ junior-varsity and boy’s freshman basketball teams in Tamaqua. Bobby and Fred Mervine opened the M & M RedZone in Mahanoy City, May 2013 and then Bobby became the sole owner in September 2015. While this season will be different, Bobby will be there with us as we cheer on his Philadelphia Eagles and Philadelphia Flyers.

He was a member of the Mahanoy City Elks Lodge No. 695, the Mahanoy City American Legion Post 74 and the Humane Fire Company #1 in Mahanoy City.

Bobby was brave, honest, strong and kind. He was a bright light in this world and a friend to all. He was proud of his hometown and did his best to support the schools, youth sports and various community organizations and events. He would always find the positive even in the darkest times.

When Bobby got his driver’s license, he immediately checked the box to be an organ donor without knowing many years down the road, that he would be the recipient of a liver and kidney from a very special person who remains unknown but is forever in our hearts. In true Bobby fashion, Gift of Life was contacted to inquire about donating his organs upon his passing; however, it was determined that his organs were not eligible for medical reasons; however, through the Lion World Vision Institute – Bobby’s final act of kindness is to restore sight to someone in need through donating his “baby browns”.

Bobby would like for all of us to continue living the way he lived – caring for and loving all.

He was the husband of Cassie (Howley) Moucheron. They were married at St. Paul’s U.C.C., Mahanoy City on August 13, 2011 and just celebrated 15 years of marriage together. In addition, Nutbutt and Grey-Grey, our feline babies will be missing their Daddy.

Bobby is survived by his sister, Cheri, wife of Rick Southcott, of Downingtown and his brother, Thomas, husband of Paula, of Mahanoy City.

He is also survived by niece/goddaughter Allison, wife of Darren Kline; nephew Eric Moucheron, fiancée Christy Evancho; niece Nicole Southcott, fiancé Justin Alcala; nephew Ricky Southcott, fiancée Alli Hergenrother and 3 great nieces/nephew, Cadence and Chason Kline and Harper Moucheron. In addition, there are numerous sisters/brothers and nieces/nephews from his wife’s side of the family that survive him.

In lieu of flowers and as we all know how Bobby loved his four-legged friends, the family would prefer contributions be made to the S.P.C.A. or another charity of your choice and will be accepted at the visitation.

A Funeral service will be held at 8:30 PM with Reverend Christopher Zelonis officiating.

Friends are invited to call 5 PM to 9 PM on Sunday, August 23rd at Louis D. Truskowsky Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. in Mahanoy City, PA.

To honor and support Bobby’s love of sports, please wear your favorite sports apparel and keep it casual. We all know Bobby was a passionate, simple and humble guy.
