Joseph M. Kantner
Joseph M. Kantner, 80, formerly of Palo Alto, died Friday, September 11, 2026, at Providence Place in Pottsville.
Born in Pottsville on September 7, 1946, he was a son of the late William and Anne (Casey) Kantner.
He was a 1965 graduate of St. Clair High School and served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked as a machine operator at Honeywell in Pottsville for many years before his retirement.
He was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church in St. Clair, the St. Clair Fish & Game Association and the Black Diamond Navy Club in Minersville.
Joe will always be remembered for his daily walks throughout St. Clair. Rain or shine, walking was part of his daily routine. He would greet friends and take in the community he loved. Joe was a lifelong Phillies fan and rarely missed a game. He often said he liked the Phillies but loved his wife, Shirley.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Kantner, in 2010 and a brother, William Kantner, in 2013.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, September 17, 2026, at 11 a.m. at St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, 250 E. Hancock St., St. Clair. The Rev. William Glosser will officiate. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Clare of Assisi memorial fund at the address above. Burial with military honors will be in Calvary Cemetery in Pottsville.

Ronald L. Danchak, 85, of Coaldale, passed away Wednesday evening, September 9, at home surrounded by his family.

Timothy W. Klase
Timothy W. Klase, 68, of Lavelle, passed away Friday afternoon, September 11, at Edenbrook of Greenwood Hill in Pottsville.
Born in Pottsville on June 18, 1958, he was the son of the late Jean M. (Kellerman) and Warren H. Klase.
Tim graduated from North Schuylkill High School.
He was of the Christian faith.
Tim was an avid Phillies fan.
Timothy is survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Graveside services at Citizens Cemetery in Lavelle will be held at the convenience of the family.
