Barbara Ann Yenelavage

Barbara Ann Yenelavage, 70, of Cumbola, passed away Tuesday, September 8th, at Green Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Pottsville.

Born in Pottsville on December 5, 1955, the daughter of the late Kathleen "Sissy" Yenelavage.

Barb was a graduate of St. Clair High School, Class of 1973 and also graduated summa cum laude in 1980 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Daemen College, Buffalo NY.

She was employed in human resources by Redco for 35 years working as an insurance administrator. After retirement, she worked as a personal assistant for Avenues for three years.

Barb was a member of Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, New Philadelphia, where she volunteered for festivals and worked in the kitchen. Barb was a trustee and secretary for Cumbola Good Will Fire Company and belonged to the Lithuanian Women’s Guild. She volunteered at St. Mary's Orthodox Church, Coaldale and was a member of the Cumbola & New Philadelphia Senior Citizens group.

Barb loved to spend time tending to her garden.

She is survived by several cousins including her cousin Jeanine Konecny, Whiting, NJ, who also assisted in her care, as well as her niece and nephew in her heart, Evelyn & Hunter Lubinsky.

In addition to her mother, Barb is also preceded in death by her maternal grandparents: John & Anna Yenelavage, and her uncle, Benjamin "Slim" Yenelavage.

A Visitation will be held at Haus Bartashus Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., New Philadelphia on Monday, September 21st from 9-11 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM on Monday, September 21st at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, New Philadelphia. After Mass, Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Philadelphia.

At the family's request, donations in Barb’s memory may be forwarded to Hospice Compassus, 500 Hawk Ridge Dr. Suite 6, Hamburg PA 19526.

Melanie Ann Radzievich, 78, of Pottsville passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 3, at her home.

Born May 13, 1948, Melanie was the only child of the late Charles and Melanie Moyer of Tamaqua.

Melanie graduated from Tamaqua High School in 1966 and completed Medical Secretarial Studies at Goldey–Beacom College (Delaware) in 1968. She later completed Paralegal Studies at Pennsylvania State University–Schuylkill Haven.

She worked for more than two decades for Schuylkill County, serving in the offices of mapping and assessment.

Retirement gave Melanie more time for the role she treasured most -- Nana. She happily kept her grandchildren, Robby and Riley, for days at a time when they were home -- sick from school -- or needed a vacation from their parents. Melanie was a devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother. Kind and thoughtful, Melanie maintained friendships that lasted a lifetime. A passionate animal-lover, Melanie also cared for her beloved collies most of her adult life.

Melanie and Pete, who were married for 55 years, shared a love of family and passion for following politics and the Phillies, both of which regularly tested Melanie’s patience.

She is survived by her husband, Peter J. Radzievich, Pottsville; a son, Peter J. Radzievich Jr., Pottsville; a daughter, Nicole A. Mertz, and her husband, Robert A. Mertz, Hellertown; two grandchildren, Robby and Riley Mertz; and many cousins.

A Visitation shall be held Friday, September 18th from 10:00 to 11:30 am at the Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc., 104 S, 4th St., Minersville.

A Service of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 at the funeral home.

Interment St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Melanie’s name to Hillside SPCA, 51 SPCA Road, Pottsville, PA 17901.

Daniel Joseph Chapman Sr., 72, of Minersville, passed away Thursday at home. Full arrangements shall be announced. Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc., Minersville in charge of the arrangements.


Robert "Bob" John Davis, Sr., age 57, of Lykens Twp., passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at home.

He was born on February 1, 1969, in Pottsville, a son of the late Ann Elizabeth (Kostyal) Davis.

Bob was a Heavy Equipment Mechanic and last employed as a Truck Driver. Bob was an avid outdoors man. He loved spending time hunting with his boys & brother in law, Bill. He loved fishing with his grandchildren. He loved having his morning coffee on his front porch with the love of his life, Kelly, as well as his two dogs Miles & Millie. He looked forward to all the wildlife that came through his yard.

Bob loved his home filled with his children & grandchildren. He lived life to the fullest and never allowed anything to slow him down. Bob enjoyed working on anything and everything. There was nothing Bob couldn’t fix or break.

He is survived by his loving wife of 11 years, Kelly J. Krise, his children, Robert Davis Jr. (Danielle), Kyle Davis (Tanisha), Kasey Davis, Brandon Ossman (Aleah), Nicole Green (Ryan) & Erik Ossman (Samantha); his grandchildren: Jasper Davis, Duke Davis, Jayse Lederer, Benson Davis, Bailey Davis, Freya Ossman, Felicity Ossman, Skylor Green, Camron Green, Chevy Green, Shyla Green, Bruin Green, Brylan Green, Erik Ossman Jr., Levi Ossman, Lydia Ossman, Javelin Schaffer and Cayden Lehman; his siblings, Irene Gassert, of Frackville, Herbert Davis (Rose), of Pottsville, Elizabeth Hunt, of Fort Meyers Fl, Rose Eckiss (Mark), of Fort Meyers Fl, Carol Stevenson (Bill), of Pottsville, Bonnie Baker (Mark) Kinzers and Mary Sparrow (Ed), of Pottsville.

Bob's Memorial Services will start at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Buffington Reed Funeral Home, 200 W Main Street, Valley View, PA 17983. A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the memorial service at Buffington Reed Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers donations in Robert’s name can be made to Helping Hands Wildlife Center, 41 E Second Mountain Rd, Pottsville, PA 17901.
