He was born April 25, 1949. Lamar was the son of the late Pearl and Russell Herb.
He was a member of Pine Creek United Methodist church, Spring Glen, PA.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ronald Herb.
He is survived by his wife and best friend, Carol Herb. Lamar was also survived by a sister Alice Bushong and her companion Larry Schucker of Willliamstown, PA and 2 brothers Gary Herb and his wife Sandra, Hegins, PA and David "Greaser" Herb and his wife Carol Hegins, PA. Lamar was also survived by a daughter Melissa Spatzer and her husband Jeff, Hebe PA, two sons, Kevin and Dustin Herb, Hegins, PA and three step-children; Amy Michael and her husband Brian, Malta, PA, Jody Richards and her husband Chad, Valley View, PA, and Chad Updegrave and his wife Kelly, Mountville, PA. He also had seven grandchildren, whom he loved dearly, and many nieces and nephews.
Lamar was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need.
He was a life long truck driver and enjoyed working on anything mechanical in the garage.
According to his wishes, and knowing what a private man he was, private services will be held at the discretion of the family.
Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, is in charge of arrangements.
