Nearly Seven Decades of Service Lead Charles Smulligan to Convention Parade Honor

Longtime Ryan Township Fire Company member and former Fire Chief Charles Smulligan was recognized for nearly seven decades of service when he served as grand marshal of the 2026 Schuylkill County Volunteer Firefighters Convention Parade.

First responders filled Route 54 in Barnesville on Saturday, August 22, for the 2026 Schuylkill County Volunteer Firefighters Convention Parade. The procession featured fire apparatus, marching units, pipe bands, mummers and the Mahanoy Area Marching Band.
