One Person Injured in Accident on Route 309 Near McAdoo

An unidentified person was injured during a two-vehicle accident around 10:15 PM Thursday (August 21, 2014) at the intersection of Arthur Gardner Parkway and the North Church Street/Chamber of Commerce Beltway (SR309) in Hazle Township. The person was transported via ambulance to Lehigh Valley Hospital in Hazleton. Responding were McAdoo Fire Company, McAdoo Ambulance, Hazleton Township Fire Company, and others. It is unknown if others were injured.

Girl Hit By Train in Mahanoy City
A 12 year old was hit by a train in Mahanoy City Wednesday afternoon around the 500 block of West Railroad Street.
According to sources, her leg was amputated in the incident and she was flown via helicopter to a local trauma center.
