Shenandoah Police were called to the area of North Gilbert St. and West Lloyd Street around midnight March 12, 2014 for a male acting suspiciously over a period of one to two hours.

The responding officer attempted to make contact with the man, Dean Zelinksy, of Ringtown, but when doing so, Zelinsky retreated to his vehicle and drove away.

Zelinsky led officers in a pursuit that first stopped in front of the Shenandoah Police Station, but when officers approached the vehicle, Zelinsky drove away at a high rate of speed toward Ringtown on Route 924.

Officers pursued Zelinsky for a short distance but stopped the pursuit due to weather conditions.

Zelinsky was charged with fleeing or attempting to elude police, recklessly endangering another person, loitering and prowling at night time, careless driving, and other traffic violations.
