In a story posted from WBRE, investigators said someone dumped a 10 month old puppy into a garbage can outside Mahanoy Area High School on Sunday.
A woman who was walking her own dog discovered the pup and called for help.
Police are looking for surveillance video, and anyone with information is asked to call the Mahanoy City Police Department at (570) 773-2310.
