Woman Injured After Man Shot Her in the Head

According to Pennlive.com, a Tremont man is facing attempted homicide charges after he shot a woman in the head after an argument Thursday evening.


Reports state that Ramon Mercado, 30, Tremont, was arguing with Heidi Mercado, 40, in the 2000 block of East Main Street in Porter Township around 11:30 p.m. when he pulled out a pistol and threatened to kill her.

The man then pulled the trigger and shot the woman in the right side of her head.  Heidi Mercado survived and .flown to Hershey Medical Center where she was listed in stable condition.

Court records show that Ramon Mercado was arraigned Friday by the Honorable David J. Rossi and was charged with Attempted Homicide, aggravated assault, illegal possession of a firearm, terroristic threats, and recklessly endangering another person.  He was placed in Schuylkill County Prison in lieu of $250,000 bail.
