#LightsOn4WestPenn to Show Your Support for Law Enforcement

On Wednesday evening, eastern Pennsylvania experienced what we've only ever seen on the news.  West Penn Police Officer Melissa Ruch was assaulted after she stopped along Route 309 on the Blue Mountain for a disabled vehicle.  As she approached the vehicle, the suspect picked up Ruch and threw her over a 20 feet embankment.  Ruch suffered injuries and was flown to a local hospital.

At the time of writing this article, State Police are looking for a Hispanic Male, 6' 2"-6'4" in height, weighing approx. 240-260 lbs, wearing a black shirt and blue jeans and driving a dark colored Nissan Maxima.

Law enforcement doesn't nearly get the credit they deserve.  Show your support through the Labor Day weekend by keeping your porch lights on.  This way as our borough, State Police, emergency responders, and other Law enforcement as they pass by our homes, it will show as a way of saying thank you and that we support them.
