Dense Fog Advisory Issued for Schuylkill County

A Dense Fog Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service for Schuylkill County overnight.

DENSE FOG ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM EST THURSDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN STATE COLLEGE HAS ISSUED A DENSE FOG ADVISORY... WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM EST THURSDAY.

* VISIBILITIES... WIDESPREAD VISIBILITIES LESS THAN ONE QUARTER MILE.

* TIMING... DENSE FOG WILL BE ENCOUNTERED TONIGHT THROUGH THE PRE DAWN HOURS THURSDAY MORNING... BUT SHOULD TEND TO DECREASE TOWARDS SUNRISE.

* IMPACTS... GREATLY REDUCED VISIBILITY WILL CREATE HAZARDOUS TRAVEL.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A DENSE FOG ADVISORY IS ISSUED WHEN WIDESPREAD DENSE FOG WILL SUBSTANTIALLY REDUCE VISIBILITIES... RESULTING IN HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS OVER MOST OF THE ADVISORY AREA. MOTORISTS ARE ADVISED TO SLOW DOWN... USE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS OR FOG LIGHTS... AND KEEP A SAFE DISTANCE FROM THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF YOU. CONSIDER ALLOWING EXTRA TIME TO REACH YOUR DESTINATION.
