Authorities Identify Suspect in Hazleton Homicide; Victim’s Body Found Burning

Authorities in Luzerne County have released new details in the disturbing case of a woman who was murdered and left burning along a Hazleton road.
The Luzerne County District Attorney’s Office and the Hazleton City Police Department held a press conference Monday afternoon to provide updates on the investigation into the death of Jessica Lockwood.

Lockwood’s body was discovered on Sunday, April 27, burning along Club 40 Road in Hazleton. Two days later, on April 29, an autopsy determined her cause of death to be a combination of blunt force trauma and a gunshot wound. Her death has officially been ruled a homicide.

Following the discovery, investigators searched a residence on Muir Road, which led to the identification of a suspect.

According to Fox 56, police have named Terrance Lorey Ray as the man accused of killing Lockwood. Authorities say Ray is currently on the run, and a search is underway.

Anyone with information about Ray’s whereabouts or the case is urged to contact Hazleton City detectives through their tip line at 570-450-2080 or via the Hazleton Police Department’s Crimewatch page.
