Winter Storm Warning Issued for Schuylkill County

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Schuylkill County.

WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM EST TUESDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN STATE COLLEGE HAS ISSUED A WINTER
STORM WARNING FOR MIXED PRECIPITATION...MAINLY ICE...WHICH IS IN
EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM EST TUESDAY. THE WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS NO
LONGER IN EFFECT.

* ACCUMULATIONS...SNOW AND SLEET ACCUMULATION OF 1 TO 3
INCHES...ALONG WITH AROUND ONE QUARTER OF AN INCH OF ICE.

* HAZARD TYPES...MIXED PRECIPITATION...MAINLY ICE ACCRETIONS FROM
FREEZING RAIN.

* TIMING...SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN WILL CONTINUE THROUGH MUCH OF
THE NIGHT BEFORE TURNING TO RAIN.

* IMPACTS...HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS...AND POSSIBLE POWER
OUTAGES.

* WINDS...NORTHEAST AT 10 MPH TURNING TO THE SOUTHEAST.
