Man Shot and Killed in Altercation Tuesday Morning

A man died Tuesday morning involving an altercation with a gun.

According to Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, around 9:30 am, police were called to a reported shooting on James Street, Kline Township, near McAdoo.

Upon arrival police found David Gombert, 27, of Hazle Township,  shot and was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Also at the scene was Eric Mumaw, 29, of Kline Township.

Police say both were involved in an altercation when a gun was discharged killing Gombert and injuring Mumaw.

Mumaw's injuries were non-life threatening and he was treated.

The Pennsylvania State Police and Schuylkill County District Attorney's Office is still investigating the incident and no charges have been filed at this time.
