Tractor Trailer Goes Over Embankment in Two Vehicle Crash Monday Morning

A tractor trailer went over an embankment Monday morning in a two vehicle crash on Interstate 81.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, around 9:50am, Monday morning, a vehicle driven by George Stuffick, of Cresco, PA was traveling south on Interstate 81 in the passing lane near Milemarker 135 when for unknown reasons traveled into the path of a tractor trailer that she was passing in the right lane.

The tractor trailer was being operated by Diriye Farah, of Buffalo, NY.

Neyhart's vehicle struck front of the tractor trailer, spun clockwise off the highway and struck and embankment and several trees.

The tractor trailer traveled off the road as well and through a guard rail, PennDOT sign and down a 50 foot embankment.

Diriye was reported to have suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital by Ryan Township EMS.

Stuffick and a passenger, Melissa Neyhart were not injured.

Assisting at the scene was Ryan Township and McAdoo Fire Departments as well as Hopes Towing and D&B Towing.

RETRACTION:  Originally we reported that Neyhart was driving and was the one hurt.
