On January 16th, 2017, Ashland police received a call for a report of someone taking packages off of a porch in the 200 block of West Centre St. in the borough. A relative of the victim reportedly caught Nicole Neary, 26, of Ashland taking and opening packages that were delivered by mail to the home. The relative knew Neary and immediately called the police and reported the matter.
The Ashland police have been dealing with a rash of package thefts over the weeks leading up to this incident. Neary is currently incarcerated on an unrelatéd charge so charges for Theft and Receiving Stolen Property have been filed through Magisterial District Judge Christina Hale's office in Frackville,
