Tractor Trailer Jackknifes on Route 61 Early Saturday Morning

A tractor trailer jackknifed early Saturday Morning.


According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, the crash occurred around 6:15am, Saturday Morning.

Police say the crash occurred when a tractor trailer driven by Justino Velazaquex, 46, of Camden, NJ was traveling south on Route 61, just south of the Schuylkill Mall, lost control when his vehicle hit heavy water runoff that was beginning to freeze.

The tractor trailer struck a series of guard rails then jackknifed resting in the center median.

The left lane was closed for nearly 3 hours while the accident was cleaned up

The Goodwill Hose an Friendship Hose out of Frackville, as well as PennDOT assisted at the scene.

Velazaquez was not injured.

Hoffman's Towing towed the truck from the scene.
