Vandals Damage Equipment at Memorial Field Over Weekend

Police say vandals damaged equipment at an area field over the weekend.

According to Ashland Police Chief Mark O'Hearn, on Saturday 04/22/17, it was reported to police that someone broke into a storage building at Memorial Field, located in the 2100 and 2200 Blocks on Centre Street, in the borough.

O'Hearn says that once the vandal(s) got inside the building, they spray painted a riding tractor and scattered items on the floor.  Nothing was reported to have been missing.

Anyone with information on the incident should call Ashland Borough Police at (570) 875-2600.

The field is used by the Ashland Football League as well as a practice field for Ashland's Little League and Softball League.

This will be the second time in a year that vandals have struck this field.  In August 2016, vandals damaged the press box of the field.
