Woman Facing DUI Charges as a Result of a Checkpoint

West Mahanoy Township Police have filed charges as a result of a sobriety checkpoint on May 19th, 2017.

During the course of the checkpoint Vanessa Ramirez, Hazleton, was found to be operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. Ramirez will have to answer to charges of DUI before Magisterial District Judge Kilker, Shenandoah.

Man Facing Drug, Corruption of Minor, and Public Drunkenness Charges

GIRARDVILLE - According to Girardville Police, On Sunday, August 13, 2017, Officer Jennifer Dempsey received a dispatch to the 100 block of West Ogden Street in the borough for a report of a male trying to sell prescription pills.

When arriving, police were told by a 17 year old male that Michael Grady, 65, of Girardville, had tried selling him prescription pills.  After the teen refused, Grady tried again.

Grady was then located at 127 West Ogden Street where he reportedly offered to buy one of the small children inside the residence.

According to Police, Grady was found to be intoxicated.

Grady was charged with felony possession with intent to deliver, misdemeanor corruption of minors, and summary charges of public drunkenness.

He was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Ferrier and committed to Schuylkill County Prison in lieu of $10,000 cash bail
