Police Investigating Rocks Being Thrown from Overpasses on Interstate 78

The Pennsylvania State Police are investigating incidents where rocks were thrown from overpasses on Interstate 78 in Berks County.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Hamburg, 3 incidents were reported where rocks were thrown from overpasses early Sunday morning.

Police say two incidents occurred around 2:30 am at the Power Drive Overpass.  During both incidents, multiple rocks being thrown, striking their vehicle in the front windshield. The impact punctured the front windshield. In addition, due to the quantity of rocks on the roadway, the Victim's vehicle sustained undercarriage damage.

A third incident was also reported at the Exit 23 overpass where an unknown object was thrown striking the windshield of a vehicle.


No injuries were reported.
