Man Wanted for Warrant in Custody After Harrassment Incident

An Ashland man is in custody on a warrant after a harassment incident.

According to Ashland Police Chief Mark O'Hearn, police were called to the vicinity of 11th and Walnut Streets Monday afternoon around 1:40pm for a disturbance in the street with a male and female involved in a domestic dispute.

O'Hearn says when police arrived both involved had left the location but Police found the female a block away.

After interviewing the female victim, she advised police that she was chased by Haadee Bennett, 31, of 1100 Centre Street and that he had shoved her during the incident.

Police went to Bennett's address and made contact.  After checking his records, it was found that Bennett was wanted by the Schuylkill County District Attorney's office on an outstanding bench warrant.

Bennett was taken into custody and locked up in Schuylkill County Prison on the bench warrant and will also face additional charged of harassment for Monday's incident.

Camper Overturns on Interstate 81 Tuesday Afternoon

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, around 1:45pm, a pick up truck with 5th wheel camper, driven by Huguette Poulin, 66, of Torrington, CT was traveling SB on SR81.

The pickup and camper jack knifed causing the camper portion to overturn and come to rest on it side in the right lane. The pick up truck sustained minor rear end damage. Right lane was closed for approx. one hour until the camper was removed.

Poulin and a passenger were not injured.
