Ferraro Fest to Help Support Police Chief Battling Cancer

An event next month with help to benefit a Schuylkill County Police Chief battling cancer.


Port Carbon Police Chief Joe Ferraro is battling cancer and his friends have scheduled a benefit for him next month.

It will take place at Pine View Acres located at 145 Chamberlin Ave (Up The Road From Weis Market), Pottsville on December 8th and 9th.

The event will start on Friday December 8th with a Shop and Drop from 5:00pm-9:00pm with over 150 prizes.


On Saturday, the day starts at 10am with a bake sale and "Dutchie Auction" until 4pm. 

Prizes include $500 kahalari resort package, truck toolbox, large jerky basket, TV, wreaths, and much more.
Numbers will be pulled at 4:00pm and live entertainment will begin at approximately 5:00pm and run through the night. 



So far, the bands announced to perform are

  • Boys Upstairs 5pm
  • Woodchips 6pm
  • Shaddler 7pm
  • Endless Plague 8pm
  • Ricky and Ricardo's 9pm
  • Rude Groove 10pm
  • Hooligan 11pm
  • And the return of Cool Daddy Groove after over a ten year hiatus featuring Donny Frantz, John DeLowery, Rob Urenko and Chris Kurtz they start at midnight
