Man Seriously Injured in Home Invasion and Robbery

State Police are investigating a Monday morning home invasion and robbery.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven, on Monday morning, around 4:00am, two masked men entered the residence of a 71 year old man on Line St., Tremont PA and demanded he show them where his safe was located.

When the victim stood up, he was struck across the face with a crow bar and his hands were bound with duct tape.

The men removed cash and coins in excess of $2,000 and fled the residence.

The victim was able to free himself, left the residence and drove himself around Tremont before finding someone to call police.

EMS responded and transported the victim to Schuylkill Medical Center, Pottsville for treatment.
