Retraining Opportunities Offered Through Lehigh Carbon Community College

People in the Schuylkill, Carbon, Lehigh County area who have been laid off permanently or indefinitely from their jobs have access to Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC)‘s employment retraining opportunities (ERO), including a tuition waiver.



The ERO program is designed for those who have recently been affected by area layoffs and will help them find resources to get back on a career track.

Information sessions to learn more about the ERO are scheduled for the following dates, in the Alumni Center, room 107/108, main campus in Schnecksville:
11 a.m. to 12 p.m., Monday, Nov. 27
2 to 3 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 28
11 a.m. to 12 p.m., Friday, Dec. 1

To be eligible for funds, applicants must have been laid off from a full-time position within the past 12 months and be a resident of Lehigh, Carbon or Schuylkill counties, or have been working for an employer in those counties.

Applicants should complete an ERO application, submit a letter from the former employer and complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). LCCC’s spring semester begins Jan. 12, 2018.

Approved applicants may register for credit courses from the state high priority occupations, up to a maximum of four courses within one semester. Students who applied for a selective program at LCCC and postponed starting until fall 2018 may be eligible to begin classes in spring 2018.
