Shenandoah Heights Fire Ruled Arson

A fire in West Mahanoy Township in late October has been reported to have been arson.

Around 2:10am on Monday, October 30th, emergency personnel were called 191 Ohio Ave in Shenandoah Heights, in West Mahanoy Township for a working structure fire.  Crews battled not only the fire but strong winds and rain.

Fire crews had the fire under control within an hour of arrival but not before severely damaging the double block home.

One firefighter was reportedly injured.

The Pennsylvania State Police Troop L Fire Marshal Unit was requested to determine the origin of the fire.

The investigating officer Trooper Joseph Hall reports that the fire started on the rear 2nd floor porch  and ruled arson.
