Man Charged After Traffic Stop Leads to Finding of Over $72,000 Worth of Meth and Heroin

A man has been charged after a traffic stop in Schuylkill County led to the discovery of over $72,000 worth of methamphetamine and heroin on Tuesday.


According to the Pennsylvania State Police, on Tuesday, December 5, 2017, members of the Schuylkill County District Attorney’s Office, Drug Task Force, and Pennsylvania State Police, acting upon information received, executed a traffic stop on a 2014 Ford Explorer travelling within West Brunswick Township, Schuylkill County near Deer Lake.

Probable cause was established to search the vehicle. Items of contraband were subsequently seized from the vehicle including, but not limited to, the following:
  • One and one half pounds of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $68,100.00
  • Approximately ten grams (10 g) of heroin with an estimated street value of $3,000.00
  • Two hundred forty dollars ($240.00) of United States Currency
Because of the previous seizure, members of the Schuylkill County District Attorney’s Office, Drug Task Force, Pennsylvania State Police, Troop L—Reading Vice/Narcotics Unit and Berks County District Attorney’s Office executed a court authorized search and seizure warrant at a residence within the Borough of Wyomissing, Berks County.

Items of contraband were subsequently seized from the residence including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Approximately twenty grams (20 g) of heroin with an estimated street value of $6,000.00
  • Approximately two hundred forty-five grams (245 g) of marihuana with an estimated street value of $2,400.00
  • 56 suspected Xanax pills
  • 80 suspected Oxycodone pills
  • 129 suspected Klonopin pills
  • $17,530 of United States Currency
  • 4 rifles, 2 of which contained obliterated serial numbers
  • 1 revolver
Because of the previous search in Berks County, Cristian Maracine, 38,  of Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, was charged with violations of the Controlled Substance, Drug, Device and Cosmetic Act.

Maracine will be charged in the near future in Schuylkill County also with violations of the Controlled Substance, Drug, Device and Cosmetic Act.
