Frackville Police Investigating Monday Afternoon Stabbing

The Frackville Police Department is investigating a Monday afternoon stabbing.

According to Frackville Police Chief Rick Bell, the stabbing occurred just after 12:15pm in the 100 Block of South Lehigh Avenue in the borough.

The victim, a 24 year old male, made his way to the Unity Mart down the street where he was able to call for help.

The suspect, who was not named, but described as a Hispanic male, left the scene and travelled in a Blue SUV on Route 924 towards Shenandoah.

The victim was taken by EMS to the former Schuylkill Mall property where he was flown to Lehigh Valley Cedar Crest and is undergoing surgery for his injuries.

Chief Bell reports that the suspect is still at large, but the incident was not random and there is no threat to the public.

The investigation is ongoing.
