Pottsville Man Charged for Inappropriate Contact with Three Children

A Pottsville man was arrested this week for having inappropriate contact with young children.

According to Pottsville Police, an investigation that began in November 2017 led to the finding that Steven Anthony Servis, 34, of Pottsville had engaged in inappropriate contact with 3 minor children ranging from the ages of 10-12 between November 2015 and November 2017 in various locations around the city of Pottsville.

An arrest warrant was obtained on Monday, January 15th, 2018 for Servis.  On Wednesday, January 17th, 2018 Servis was taken into custody by the York City Police Department and on Thursday, January 18th, 2018 Servis was transported by Pottsville Police back to Schuylkill County Prison where he was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Reiley who set bail at $150,000 straight cash.

Servis was charged with Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse, Attempted Criminal Attempt to Commit Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse, Indecent Assault(3 counts), Indecent Exposure(3 counts), Corruption of Minors (3 counts), Unlawful Contact with a Minor, and Obscene and Other Sexual Material and Performance.

Servis was also arraigned on 01/18/18 for an outstanding arrest warrant obtained by Pottsville Police related to a Criminal Trespass incident on 01/12/18 in which he entered into a Pottsville residence in the 500 block of East Arch Street without authorization.

Bail was set in this case at $15,000 cash by Magisterial District Judge Reiley.
