Ashland Man Arrested for Making Terroristic Threats on Social Media Towards Police and Public Officials

An Ashland man was arrested Tuesday for making threats online towards local police and county officials.

According to Ashland Police, on Tuesday, police were notified of a social media post that was threatening in nature towards police officers, judges and other public officials.  Upon investigating the social media page and the individual who posted the threatening posts, police identified the person as as Bart Aquino of 1009 Centre Street, Ashland.

After conferring with Schuylkill County District Attorney Mike O'Pake, charges of Terroristic Threats were filed and an arrest warrant was issued by Magisterial District Judge Christina Hale.

On Tuesday afternoon, the warrant was served on Aquino at his residence without incident.  Officers assisting on the apprehension were Sheriff Joseph Groody and Deputies from the Schuylkill County Sheriff's office and Butler Township Police.

Aquino was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Reiley and locked up in Schuylkill County Prison unable to post $75,000 straight cash bail.
