Mahanoy Township Water Authority Lifts Ban on Non-Essential Water Usage

On the Monday, the Mahanoy Township Water Authority lifted their Drought Contingency Plan.

Customers of the Mahanoy Township Water Authority were notified Monday that the ban on non-essential water usage has now been lifted.

On December 8th, 2017 a Stage 1 Drought Contingency Plan was activated for all customers prohibiting non-essential water usage in Mahanoy Township, Mahanoy City, and Gilberton.

The lifting of the ban is due to combined water levels in the Authority's reservoirs being above the 75% capacity threshold system wide.

The Authority thanks its users for their cooperation during the time when the ban was in place for any and all conservation methods utilized by their customers.
