Mahanoy Township Police File Drug Charges in Separate Incidents

On Friday, May 11, 2018, Mahanoy Township Police filed drug charges against two individuals from separate incidents.

Melissa Merenda, 36, of Barnesville was charged by Officer Frank Gallo with possession with intent for use for an April 11, 2018 incident on the Vulcan Hill where she was found with 3 glass pipes with a burnt substance inside.  Merenda was taken to the Mahanoy Township Police Station at the time of the incident and released until charges filed. 

Justin Mosolino, 37, of Pottsville was charged by Officer Frank Gallo with possession with intent for use, as possession of a controlled substance for a May 6, 2018 incident.  During the incident, police were dispatched to the Sunoco Gas Station at the top of the Vulcan Hill for a domestic incident.  Mosolino was found at the scene with 4 needles, 2 cut down straws used for inhaling, and a clear glassine bag containing a white crystal-like substance which later tested for methamphetamine.  Mosolino was taken to the Mahanoy Township Police Station at the time of the incident and released until charges filed.
