Police Release Photo; Ask for Public's Help in Identifying a Person of Interest Involved in Stabbing


Mahanoy City Police have released a photo of a person of interest involved with Friday's reported stabbing in the borough.


According to Police Chief Kenneth Zipovsky, Mahanoy City Police received a report of a male who was brought by a private vehicle to a Pottsville hospital.

When emergency medical personnel evaluated the patient, it was determined that the male was a victim of an apparent stabbing.

Preliminary information was received that the incident occurred in Mahanoy City.

Police Officers searched for the location of the offense, and evidence documenting an assault was found in the 500 block of East Mahanoy St. The victim is currently receiving emergency medical treatment at the time of this press release. Police were assisted at the scene by the Mahanoy City Fire Police and the Mahanoy Township Police Department.

Overnight Friday into Saturday, police released a photo requesting the public’s assistance in attempting to identify a person of interest in the investigation.

This is an active investigation, and the Officers of the Mahanoy City Police Department are vigorously pursuing all leads.
