Thomas L. Oakum, 68, Girardville, passed away suddenly on Monday afternoon at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Francis and Margaret Kelly Oakum. Tom worked as a hearing officer for the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue until his retirement.

Tom was a devout member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Centralia, a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Jack Kehoe Division #1, Girardville, the Frackville American Legion Post 398, the Rangers Hose Company, Girardville and a member of the Retired PA State Employees.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Francis Oakum.

Tom is survived by his wife of 45 years, Christine M. Dumchock Oakum, Girardville; his four sons: Sean Oakum and his wife Robyn Defelice, Bloomsburg, Stephen Oakum, Valley View, Craig and his wife Marci Oakum, Morristown, NJ, and Brian Oakum, Danville; his sister Miriam Rose Oakum, Greenbriar, AR; a grandson, Robert Oakum.

Divine Liturgy will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Centralia with Very Reverend Archpriest Michael Hutsko, pastor, as the celebrant. Friends may call at the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Girardville on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. with a Panachyda service at 6:30 and again on Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Interment will take place in the parish cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial donations be made, in Thomas’s name, to the church of their preference.

Peter J. Blashock, husband, father, son, brother, uncle, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday May 6, 2018 at St. Luke's Medical Center Bethlehem after taking ill on Saturday evening at home at the age of 45.

Survived by his beloved wife of 21 years, Ann Marie (McDonald) Blashock; daughter, Logan J. Blashock; son, Dylan Blashock; sister, Virginia "Dolly" Heard and her husband Lorenzo of Virginia Beach, VA.; brother, Leonard Blashock of Barnesville; many nieces and nephews also s...urvive Peter.

Peter worked for KNF Flex Pak of Tamaqua. He was a graduate of Mahanoy Area High School, and a avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. No matter the length of his work day, Peter always found time for his family and was known as the life of the party.

Born in Coaldale, the son of Leonard Blashock of Mahanoy Plane, and Esther (Taiko) Blashock of Virginia Beach, Va.

Peter was predeceased by a brother, John L. Blashock.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday May 12, 2018 at 10 o'clock A.M. from the funeral home. Friends may call on Friday evening at the funeral home from 5 to 7:00 P.M.
