FBI Agents and Pottsville Police Arrest Man Wanted in Massachusetts for Armed Bank Robbery

The FBI and Pottsville Police worked together on Wednesday to take a man into custody who was wanted for a Massachusetts armed robbery.

According to Pottsville Police Chief Richard Wojciechowsky, on Wednesday June 20, 2018, the Pottsville Police received information from the Federal Bureau of Investigation that Oliver Walsh, 30, from the state of Massachusetts was currently in the City of Pottsville.

Pottsville Police were advised that Walsh was wanted by the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force and the Holliston Police Department for an armed bank robbery in Holliston, MA that occurred on October 24, 2017 in which he and a female accomplice entered a bank wearing masks and hoods and brandished weapons.

The subsequent investigation conducted on Wednesday led to Walsh being taken into custody by Pottsville Police and FBI agents inside an apartment at 619 Mahantongo Street, Pottsville around 6:30pm.

Pottsville Police arraigned Walsh locally in Magisterial District Court 21-3-07 on the charge of Arrest Prior to Requisition which is associated with the outstanding felony warrant from Massachusetts.

Following arraignment Walsh was remanded to the Schuylkill County Prison in lieu of $200,000 to await extradition to Holliston, MA.
