Help the Tri-Valley Math Department Apply for Grant

Help the Tri-Valley Math Department apply for a grant to purchase software.

To the Editor:

Tri-Valley is a small rural school with 390 students in grades 7-12.

Our Math department has been searching for ways to raise our standardized test scores. This school year we used a free trial of some online software. This software forces students to answer a problem correctly in order to move on to the next problem.

Previously, students may have done an entire assignment wrong, therefore reinforcing the concept incorrectly.

Now, once the students have correctly completed a predetermined number of problems using the new topic, the software moves them into a mixed review section and customizes each student’s review to meet their individual needs.

The results of our students’ most recent standardized test scores showed a tremendous increase in just a short amount of time using this software.

We believe that this online software is making a difference in our students’ comprehension and retention.

To continue our success we need to purchase this online software.

To help cover the cost we decided to apply for a grant.

This grant is for $2500 and will allow for 166 students to use this software.

There are only 60 grants available.

Please help us to continue making a difference by voting for our entry in the Farmers Insurance

Thank America’s Teacher grant program so we can purchase online software for Tri-Valley!
