"Fayash Memorial" Night This Friday at Big Diamond Speedway

2018 Mattera’s General & Electrical Modified point title to be decided this Friday, August 24th at The Big Diamond Speedway on “Fayash Memorial” night.

It all comes down to this Friday night, August 24th on “Fayash Memorial” night to decide the 2018 season championship in the Mattera’s General & Electrical Contracting 358 Modified division. The “Ringoes Rocket” Ryan Godown has led for most of the season but with two DNF’s in the last two races, the leader of the pack is now the “Diamond Cutter” himself Duane Howard. Howard’s consistency throughout the season along with his three points paying wins has vaulted him to the lead in the quest for the title.

Howard currently has a 37-point advantage over Godown with Craig Von Dohren lurking behind in third just 48 points behind Godown. Should Howard falter, both Godown and Von Dohren surely will be right there to take advantage of his misfortune. It should be an interesting night up in God’s Country to decide who will wear the track crown in 2018.

The USS Achey Sportsman will run a 25-lap main event this Friday as part of “Fayash Memorial” night. The 25-lap feature event will pay $1,570 to the winner and also serve as a warm-up event for the following Friday’s Coalcracker 40. Expect a few invaders to show-up and try to steal the money away from the track regulars.

Also, on tap for this Friday night will be the Savage 61 Road Runners. The Road Runners will also take part in the “Pro Shine” Road Runner challenge. Completing the night’s schedule will be the No Sweat Service Group Street Stocks. Both of these divisions usually put on a show in their 20-lap main events with door slamming wheel to wheel action bringing the crowd to the edge of their seats.

Gates open at 5:30 with the warmups getting underway at 7:30 with heat racing action immediate afterwards.

General admission for this Friday night is $20. Senior admission is $18 with kids 11-12 being $10. Kids under 10 are admitted free. Active military with ID are also admitted free.

Coming up the following weekend on Friday August 31st and Sunday September 2nd will be the annual Jack Rich, Inc. Coalcracker weekend culminating with the $10,000 to win Jack Rich, Inc Coalcracker 72 for the 358 Modifieds.
